Whether you’re a fan of airplanes or just enjoy a festive atmosphere,  you’ll get a real charge out of the EAA Skiplane Fly-In! Held every year in mid-February since 1992, the EAA Skiplane Fly-In is a fascinating spectacle of tens fo skiplanes landing and taking off, along with warm food, and a plethora of fun activities for all ages.

The EAA Skiplane Fly-In commemorates the first-ever meeting of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). The EAA is a home-built flying club founded in 1953. The organization, while still focusing on homebuilt planes, has grown to include almost every aspect of aviation and aeronautics.

The free event is scheduled for 10am to 1pm at the EAA AirVenture Museum’s Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh. Most attending skiplanes will arrive mid-morning and stay until mid-afternoon, weather and runway conditions permitting.

Attendees to the event will be treated to the sights and sounds of these fascinating skiplanes. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary warm bite to eat and a treat inside one of the display hangars at Pioneer Airport. Past EAA Skiplane Fly-Ins have seen up to 30 different skiplanes from a variety of states. This year is likely to be no exception. No other event allows for such a chance to get up-close and personal with so many skiplanes, or to meet so many pilots.

The EAA AirVenture Museum has a collection of more than 200 historic airplanes. The facility also offers world-class exhibits detailing both the past and future of aviation.
